Marina Equipment
Big Canoe offers various programs for all members, residents and guests. These include Junior Camps during the summer, Learning Ladies clinics, group clinics and private lessons. In addition, we offer the Operation 36 instructional program. Contact the Pro Shop to schedule lessons and clinics with our staff of golf professionals.
Pontoon Boat
A small deck boat with a canopy, an electric motor, and able to
accommodate 10 - 12 adults. There are eight boats in the rental fleet.
Jon Boat
Flat bottomed fishing boats with an electric motor. Holds 2 adults, weight limit 450 lbs. There are two Jon Boats in the rental fleet.
Kayak
Non-motorized boat that can accomodate one to two people. There are five (5) Hobie Mirage Outback single person kayaks fitted with pedal/fin drives along with sales for sailing, one (1) standard single person kayak, and two (2) standard double person kayaks.
Safety Equipment
Adult life jackets are stored on the rental pontoon boats. Life jackets
for children, jon boats, canoes, kayaks and paddle boards should be
obtained at the Marina office. Paddle Boarders and Children under 13
are required to wear a life jacket.
Boat Requirements
Maximum Length: 22 ft.
Motors: Electric motors only. Internal combustion motors are prohibited.
Boat Registration
Each watercraft must carry a Big Canoe registration decal in a visible location. Decals may be purchased at the Marina. Dock and rack spaces are assigned by the Marina Supervisor. Permits may be applied for and space will be assigned when available.
Storage
Dock spaces are the property of the POA and rental on these spaces may be transferred only by them. Definite rules for transfer of these rental agreements must be strictly followed. There is a waiting list for these spaces and to be certain that the proper procedure is followed, you must inform the POA of your intent to transfer title of your boat if the new owner is to have a valid and current rental agreement. Boats on trailers must be stored at the storage lot located by North Gate. All boats must be seaworthy. Boats that are not seaworthy must be repaired within thirty days of notification.
