Big Canoe residents use a centralized trash collection system located near the North Gate for household waste and garbage, cardboard and single stream recycling for paper, plastic, etc.
TRASH DISPOSAL
Big Canoe Trash Facility provides Property Owners with five household garbage containers, including one exclusively for broken-down corrugated cardboard boxes. This service is available 24/7. The facility also collects aluminum cans, yard waste and scrap metal.
BULK TRASH DAY
Bulk Trash Day is held quarterly on the last Saturday of January, April, July and October in the parking area behind the Trash Facility. Property Owners may dispose of larger bulky items and take advantage of other services such as paper shredding, for a small fee. Car/Truck/SUV load is $20. Trailer or UHaul load is $40.
RECYCLING
Big Canoe spends over $300,000 annually on trash disposal - help reduce this cost by recycling. In addition to recycling of selected items at the Big Canoe Trash Facility, residents can recycle other materials at a location less than 5 minutes from the gates.
